This centuries-old accrued knowledge is called “ education ”, which makes humans the smartest creatures on the planet earth.  The basic measurement for education is called the rate of ‘literacy’. The global adult literacy rate is 86%. 75%of the world’s illiterate population lives in South Asia,West Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Female foeticide

"There is no chance of the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on one wing."
In a democratic country where equality is on its peak priority, a social evil that originated a long time back is still in practice.
Female foeticide is the procedure of abortion to terminate female fetus from the womb of the mother after taking sex recognition tests( ultrasound).
More than 2,00,000 girls are killed each year especially in U.P. and Bihar as compared to other cities. Several religious, social, financial and emotional factors are the reasons behind the female foeticide. Most of the parents prefer son to girl because they think they have to pay a big amount as dowry at the time of marriage and also believe that tha son will carry the name of their family in future while girls will get married a day and will have a separate family. Illiteracy, insecurity, poverty and increasing ratio of rape are also the major reason for girl baby burden.
Sex ratio denotes the ratio of females to Male. So the practices like female foeitcide and infanticide have a contrary influence on the sex ratio.
Government takes many steps regarding this such as " Beti Bachao Beti Pdao" compaign and has made strict rules for the same and if anyone who found guilty will be punished.
Women should be aware so that they can be more attentive to their rights.
NO PRESENT, NO PAST, NO FUTURE WITHOUT GIRL CHILD.
Female foeticide is suicide in itself.
So save the girl child and secure the future......
