Education - A Weapon

“ Education is the key to unlocking the world, passport to freedom”                                                     Oprah Winfrey What separates humans from animals is the ability of humans to write, read, learn and teach . This centuries-old accrued knowledge is called “ education ”, which makes humans the smartest creatures on the planet earth.  The basic measurement for education is called the rate of ‘literacy’. The global adult literacy rate is 86%. 75%of the world’s illiterate population lives in South Asia,West Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Profit not Profiteering

In the beginning of this pandemic, there were limited cases of patients, so the government institutions are enough to testing and those tested positive were sent to the government hospitals. But in the present timr the number of cases increasing day by day, the demand of hospitals is on hike that's why it is important to include private hospitals as well. For testing in private hospitals government already set a limit of rs.4500 but do not set a limit for the treatment and isolation facility to the covid-19 patients. That's why private hospitals charges arbitrarily i.e. Rs. 7lakh for 14 days quarantine facility, if intensive care unit (ICU) care is warranted thrn the rates would be much higher and can be change according to their preferences that is a huge amount and can not affordable by everyone. So the states decided to interference in it and set a cap on the tariff that is charged by the hospitals. Maharashtra was the first to fix a tariff, followed by Gujarat, and Tamilnadu,  Three of the states seeing a high number of covid-19 patients. Albeit other states should also fix a cap. For testing government decided to fix a limit on testing but this can also be done by the states according to the income of their people in the state. Government should set a strict rules and regulations and can charge a penalty too. It can also make a scheme like Ayushman Bharat to provide financial support  to the weaker section. Profiteering this time is not good  Do not take advantage of the opportunity. Do not make this time exacerbate by profiteering as it is already a harsh time

Female foeticide

"There is no chance of the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on one wing." In a democratic country where equality is on its peak priority, a social evil that originated a long time back is still in practice. Female foeticide is the procedure of abortion to terminate female fetus from the womb of the mother after taking sex recognition tests( ultrasound). More than 2,00,000 girls are killed each year especially in U.P. and Bihar as compared to other cities. Several religious, social, financial and emotional factors are the reasons behind the female foeticide. Most of the parents prefer son to girl because they think they have to pay a big amount as dowry at the time of marriage and also believe that tha son will carry the name of their family in future while girls will get married a day and will have a separate family. Illiteracy, insecurity, poverty and increasing ratio of rape are also the major reason for gi...
