Education - A Weapon

“ Education is the key to unlocking the world, passport to freedom”                                                     Oprah Winfrey What separates humans from animals is the ability of humans to write, read, learn and teach . This centuries-old accrued knowledge is called “ education ”, which makes humans the smartest creatures on the planet earth.  The basic measurement for education is called the rate of ‘literacy’. The global adult literacy rate is 86%. 75%of the world’s illiterate population lives in South Asia,West Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Women account for two -  third so fall the illiterate adults of the world. The literacy rate of India is 77.7%(2017-18). In  the modern world, the meaning of ‘education’ is structured knowledge of our society in various disciplines – history, mathematics, polity, economics, various...

Feel the Reality

I always believed that every testing time comes with a great lesson for all of us. Right now the whole world is suffering from global pandemic. But this global pandemic has a message for all of us. For the first time the whole world has experienced self-isolation and social distancing for the first time, I'll tell you something for a person who is differently abled, there is nothing new in it. Those differently abled people have been living lives in quarantine since forever. But this time the whole world can actually feel what they feel. They self isolate themselves when they experience lack of acceptability. They feel socially distant when there is lack of accessibility in the world. Living in an accessible world is their basic human right that many of them are still deprived of. So I hope and I pray that when the world heels inclusively, let's ensure that in this process they leave no one behind. You must have heard a word or maybe you must have read it somewhere, Disability or a person with disability is any condition of the body or mind that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities and interact with the world around them.

A person with a disability live a hard life today owing to the emotional issues associated with the condition. His or her identity would revolve around his or her disability rather than anything else that the person can do. It does not matter whether the individuals is handsome or talented, like justin bieber. At the end of the day, they will always be a disabled man. Attitude of the abled people towards them, put a spoke in their wheel and may even discourage them from accomplishing anything.

They always categorize such a person as a second-class citizen. It would take a lot of will power and resolve to remove stigma.

SOCIAL MEDIA

"Connectivity is a human right"... With a gigantic user base and a ubiquitous existence, the social media has become an inseparable part of the fabric of the Indian society. It has transformed the way we communicate in the online world. Ultra-fast internet connectivity, cheap data plans and universal access to smartphones for our youth have impacted Indian society in a unique way. As we know everything has its pros and cons, social media also have. Like a double-edged sword, social media is a boon for the democracy and business, on the other hand fake news, privacy concerns and online frauds tell a different tale. "Whoever controls the media, controls the mind..." Social media have empowered the users to voice their concerns against injustice and inequality as evident from the " Anna movement " to the campaigns like " Meetoo " and rights for "LGBT" and same-sex marriages. On the other hand, fake news has induced violent activities aga...

REALITY CHECK

As we all know the whole world is dealing with the pandemic..but in this dire strait our respected PM Mr.  N arendra Modi is dealing with this very well. No PM has had to face such a situation that has impacted every part of India and every aspect of life. If a family member is seriously ill we get shaken. Here, his 130 crore people are at risk. Some are saying lockdown should’ve been earlier. Some are saying Army should’ve been called. Some are saying intelligence failure while some say you appease. Everyone has retrospective opinions but NONE has to bear the responsibility of 130 cr people, Only he has to.. If the lockdown doesn’t succeed then he gets targeted. If it does, still he gets targeted because the economy is hit. If he didn’t call for a lockdown then he would’ve been hounded for lethargy even if it had kept the economy going. He is always at the receiving end. You call for a nation of 130 cr to stop work. For the poor to risk going without food. The rich cry their earni...

Profit not Profiteering

In the beginning of this pandemic, there were limited cases of patients, so the government institutions are enough to testing and those tested positive were sent to the government hospitals. But in the present timr the number of cases increasing day by day, the demand of hospitals is on hike that's why it is important to include private hospitals as well. For testing in private hospitals government already set a limit of rs.4500 but do not set a limit for the treatment and isolation facility to the covid-19 patients. That's why private hospitals charges arbitrarily i.e. Rs. 7lakh for 14 days quarantine facility, if intensive care unit (ICU) care is warranted thrn the rates would be much higher and can be change according to their preferences that is a huge amount and can not affordable by everyone. So the states decided to interference in it and set a cap on the tariff that is charged by the hospitals. Maharashtra was the first to fix a tariff, followed by Gujarat, and Tamilnad...
