This centuries-old accrued knowledge is called “ education ”, which makes humans the smartest creatures on the planet earth.  The basic measurement for education is called the rate of ‘literacy’. The global adult literacy rate is 86%. 75%of the world’s illiterate population lives in South Asia,West Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.  "Connectivity is a human right"...



With a gigantic user base and a ubiquitous existence, the social media has become an inseparable part of the fabric of the Indian society. It has transformed the way we communicate in the online world. Ultra-fast internet connectivity, cheap data plans and universal access to smartphones for our youth have impacted Indian society in a unique way. As we know everything has its pros and cons, social media also have.



Like a double-edged sword, social media is a boon for the democracy and business, on the other hand fake news, privacy concerns and online frauds tell a different tale.

"Whoever controls the media, controls the mind..."

Social media have empowered the users to voice their concerns against injustice and inequality as evident from the "Anna movement" to the campaigns like "Meetoo" and rights for "LGBT" and same-sex marriages.

On the other hand, fake news has induced violent activities against innocent people falsely portrayed as child kidnappers. The communal and religious violence driver by the fake news has undermined shredded the fabric of Indian society. Social media has introduced the idea of a globalized market for the businesses around the world. 


Online education via social media websites has revolutionized the education sector as it has given rise to opportunities for working online for talented and skillful people. Sometimes our private data is in danger due to social media hence it raise the need of strong data privacy norms and facebook-cambridge analytics.

Online frauds and fake news have become the reality of today's era and which put the government in trouble.



"The great thing about social media was how it gives a voice to voiceless people..."

It is a double-edged sword. Many a time, demand for banning or regulating the social media have arisen, but an educated India is the need of the hour. Responsible social media behaviour should be a part of educational curriculum of school and college- going students. The government should work towards bringing in stronger data privacy laws and also take measures to safeguard against online frauds and phenomenon of fake news.

The ultimate choice of using social media as useful tool or destructive arms lies in the hand of its users use.

The farmers' associations from the nearby states abutting the border of the capital city,Delhi, have hunkered down near the Delhi border in a hope of getting their fears and uncertainties satiated and alleviated related to the new farm bill passed hastily by the centre.
